Final ideas for Filming

As Hellingly is due to be knocked down and we are not allowed to access the building for a long and safe period of time. we have had to change our video ideas entirely. this means moving away from the neon and bright coloured theme. we have decided to change it to dull colours and use a woodland area out the back of college. this is more practical as it means being able to film in college time without having to travel around it also means the college equipment is easier to access. e.g cameras, batteries and tapes.

Even though Hellingly was not the only location we could have used to create the crazy futuristic look we originally wanted it was still hard to find anywhere close. even abandoned places in Brighton are not ideal.

So despite wanting to follow our plans we changed them to produce a video in time and with guarantee it could happen. The basic story line for our video now is Matt (a group member) will walk around a woods and get the impression that someone is following him and then he will switch to wearing a mask. the whole thing is filmed in a woods and it is like he has a split personality as he is both the man in the mask and the one without the mask. the whole theme and idea is to create fear and confusion. this is helped by the location (woods).

We have got ideas from videos by chase and status and from horror films, these clips can be edited and recreated throughout the video. Matt will be the only person in the video, as we dont want the audience to think that Matt is being we want them to realise its all in his head.

All of these films show a wide range of fearful shots that we could use.

We will be filming in the woods, this is a contrast to the original plan we had as now we are focusing on using dull colours. The only real sense of colour we will have is from the mask in our video. Still keeping to Bloc Partys audience demographics shown in our pitch we will make the person in our video wear skinny jeans and a hoody with a brand; basic clothes that would be worn by stereotypical listeners. he will also wear plimsolls, so that it sticks to the reality that the man in the mask is still in fact Matt. we can show this by doing a close up on the shoes in the video.
