Designs for my advert

This is my first design for an advert. i want to keep it basic and make sure the main focus is the writing, so this would be the name of the song, the name of the artist, and when its coming out. i am trying to advertise the digi pack so somewhere i must include the fact that it comes with the video. for this first design i have used the mask as the photo, and thought it would be left in colour RGB. i thought this would be better as it would stand out more because the mask is red, blue and purple. if i was to make it black and white i would need to focus more on using photo shop to make certain parts shadow each other so that its still interesting without colour. I have put the date very large along the bottom, just below centre point. i did this as its one of the first places the audience will look when seeing my advert. and just above that i have put a magazine review, also at the top i have done another. good magazine examples to use would be Q and NME. these are good because they support the specific genre that Bloc Party fit into. The name of the artist is in very big clear font, this is so its obvious to the reader straight away what they are looking at.

This is my second design for an advert. this time i have used a picture i took in a local woods nearby where i live. i took this because it was an interesting and busy location, which had alot going on in it; so it fits in with our themes. i.e confusion and panic. the only problem with using this was that it isn't taken at the same place we filmed our video. although its not immediately obvious when looking at the image. but still i felt it was good to keep it recognisable. The font i want to use on photo shop is called Myriad Pro. i chose this font because it looks traditional but the smoothed corners keep it modernised; which is good as bloc party are a current band.
i like this shot in general as some points show depth of field in the front of the shot. this place where i took the shot was the same place as the abandoned bumper cars. it would have been cool to have shot our video there so we could have had a circus type theme, and Matt could have been wearing a clown mask. this would have allowed me to create an entirely different advert as it would be all about colours and childish writing. this would have been to create on photoshop as there are alot of tools i could use to create unrealistic points in the image. which contrasts with the image i have chosen above as its a solid shot meaning there are alot of layers but none would look right adjusted; unless it was in the smallest way.

This image used in my final design is the one i like the most. its a picture of Matt sitting in the woods on a chair which already is unrealistic and unexpected. as well as this he has put the mask of the back of his head so to the audience it seems like hes sat back to font, but it has a metaphorical meaning that the mask is only inside his head and all the time he is being chased around the woods it is all in his mind. i have the same information as the first one, as i felt there was enough information on the advert. i didn't want to overload it otherwise it would be too packed and look messy. it would be good if i could have taken this image with a slow shutter speed, meaning the camera would have captured Matt blurred if he moved his head. but i was limited in camera choice and on the day i had to use my mobile. i also would have liked to have used depth of field and composition to darken the shot and blur out the background leaving Matt strongly in focus so that it could show him being alone in the woods, and everything not being normal.
